Directions for Using Color Magic™ Stains
Work in a well-ventilated area. Read the directions and caution label on the bottle. Keep out of children's reach. Shake bottle well before using. Metallics, glitters, and opaque stains settle, and the bottles contain metal balls to help mix the liquid. For best results, turn bottles upside down for fifteen minutes prior to use. Shake gently, but do not hold bottle by cap and do not shake a partially-filled bottle as vigorously as a full one.
To Apply Stains: Use the brush attached to the top of the bottle, an artist's brush, or an airbrush. Use Magic Outlining Pen to apply fine details. Since the colors are intense, one heavy coat of Color Magic™ is usually adequate on most surfaces.
Drying Time: Although the stains appear to be dry to the touch in ten minutes, allow them to dry to a hard finish overnight. Color Magic™ drying times vary due to humidity and temperature. To speed up the drying process and enhance the curing of the UV sealant and color stains, blow warm air from a hair dryer on the newly applied sealant or color, or place in a warm (200o F) oven for forty-five minutes.
UV Sealant: The UV sealant adds a protective coat that inhibits stains from sun fading. Apply the sealant after the stain application has dried for twenty-four hours, and allow the UV sealant to dry for another twenty-four hours.
Metallics: Due to the composition of any metallic stain, the bottle brush may be hard. Clean with a small amount of thinner. When applied, paints become shinier as they dry.
Glitter coats: Use glitter coats for shimmering accents or apply over any color.
Storing: Store Color Magic™ tightly capped and out of the sun in a cool, dry place.
Solvent: Use solvent/thinner or denatured alcohol to remove excess stain from glass, metal, or hands.
Cleaning: Do not use harsh chemicals, such as ammonia or glass cleaner. Clean with vinegar and water.
Note: Do not apply UV Sealant for 24 hours or you will end up with one big blob of mixed paint!
